The dongoyaro (as it is called in Nigerian) is know significantly for its very bitter taste when eaten as a vegetable and the many useful health benefits such as; antimalarial, anti pain relief, strong and healthy bones etc that it offers. In addition to this, the dongoyaro (neem) leaves and its juice also provides us with very amazing beauty benefits that so many people tend to ignore or are unaware of. 

Without a doubt, the neem is very bitter when tasted but on the up side, most of its beauty benefits dont not require us to drink it…..yaay!. The individual methods of applying the neem are stated below together with the benefit it provides.

Beauty Benefits Of Dongoyaro (Neem) & Its Juice

Hair

Dongoyaro is antiseptic, anti bacterial and antiviral. It will kill the bacteria which cause Dandruff.  It improves the quailty, texture and shine of your hair. It also promotes hair growth for those struggling with hair fall.

To-Do: Boil Neem leaves in water, cool and strain it. Use this  dongoyaro juice to rinse your hair after shampooing.

Skin

1. Skin disorders: The dongoyaro remedy clears up any pimple/acne/whitehead/blackhead problems that you may have due to inflammation and the excess oil produced in your skin. The dongoyaro juice can do this due to its anti inflammatory and detoxifying properties. 

To-Do: 

-Drink neem juice everyday for glowing skin…OR

-Massage onto pimples or other skin conditions as stated previously.

– Neem leaves are also excellent  to exfoliate; used as a paste, it tightens pores and removes impurities when used as a mask-fights acne and breakouts.  

2. Anti ageing: dongoyaro contains high level of antioxidants that help protect skin from environmental damage and  ageing. While its oil contains fatty acid and vitamin E -helps rejuvenate skin cells and restore elasticity-glowing skin and balanced skin tone.

Others:

The dongoyaro leaves can be dried and placed in cupboards to prevent insects from eating your clothes.

    Dongoyaro leaves are good for diabetes mellitus when squeezed and extract juice with ginger or African yellow ginger “tumeric” and it’s good for yellow or jaundice fever if the juice is mixed with undiluted palm wine. Take it daily for 5days
