When you hear thrifting, what comes to your mind? I am sure your mind goes to bend down select/okirika wears that people buy on the street or in Yaba market. The thing you must understand is that thrift clothes are the in-thing now and there is nothing to be ashamed of!

However, you must understand that when you are wearing thrift clothes, your aim should be to look best and not just good! The art of looking like a money bag in thrift clothes is something you should learn. Here are a few to help you out.

1. Shop Current Trends: You have to make sure that whatever you are buying is trending. That way, your outfit isn’t shouting THRIFT everywhere you go! Do a little research before you go shopping. One of the reasons I love thrift is the fact that a thousand and one people won’t rock the same attire with me!

2. Avoid Clothes Without Many Embellishment: When you want to know a cheap looking thrift clothes, you will see a whole lot of embellishment on it. It would also have holes and tough stains. You want to avoid buying such clothes. These type of clothes has a way of making people look cheap and that is not the aim! Look for something classy and nice!

3. Get A Tailor: Whether you buy thrift or new clothes, you need a good tailor. I prefer you have a tailor clothes to your house so you can easily run there for emergency amendments. Never expect all thrift clothes to fit you perfectly. Some times, you would have to take them to the tailor’s shop for some major or minor amendments.

4. Wash Your Clothes: The way you take special care of your designer wears is the same way you should take care of your thrift clothes. Make sure you check the tags on these clothes so as to know how to launder them well.
