Serena Williams Gets $17,000 Fine For Three Violations

The Tennis champion Serena Williams gets $17,000 fine for three violations during her defeat to Naomi Osaka on Saturday. Serena got into an argument with the umpire,Carlos Ramos. She called him a liar and a cheat for penalizing her over alleged coaching.

Serena Williams was charged for the following reasons;

  1. For coaching from the stands ($4,000)
  2. For throwing her racket down ($3,000)
  3. For calling Umpire Carlos Ramos a liar and a thief (10,000)

After the game, during a press conference, Serana said;

I’ve seen other men call other umpires several things. I’m here fighting for women’s rights and for women’s equality and for all kinds of stuff
