Beyonce, who is the cover-to-be of Vogue’s September issue, was given full control over her cover photoshoot in September. She used this opportunity to do something very influential: she hired the first black photographer to shoot a vogue cover in Vogue’s entire history.
Tyler Mitchell, a 23-year-old photographer from Atlanta, was given the great privilege of taking pictures for the Beyonce photo shoot. He had previously worked with brands like Fader, Office Magazine and Ray-Ban.
This act by Beyonce is another step taken to encourage black people all over the world. Equality is the end goal and the circumstances of profession hold are not limits to anybody’s potential.
