A Cure for Loneliness
There is always a moment when you are uncertain if there is really any love in the world. When you cannot tell if anyone truly loves you and who’s got your back. A cheat called loneliness begins to creep in. It gradually rids you of the joys that flowed in your heart at the thought of your very self.
I have realized there is a huge difference between loneliness and being alone. To be alone, you just need to be alone in a space, but when you are lonely, it’s a heart issue. Your heart begins to feel like you are all alone in this world with no sure person to turn to.
Does this sound like your experience so far? This piece was written to help you out of it. There is a beautiful and effective cure to loneliness. As you learn this, your heart will always be filled with confidence and joy when you think about yourself.
There’s a sentence you have likely heard, preached and mimed your whole life. However, many do not pay attention to it. I will carefully quote; for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes shall not perish but have eternal life. This seemingly popular statement by Jesus in John 3:16, cures what ails you!
God’s love was climaxed in the sacrifice of Christ for humanity. His love made him give himself willingly, knowing fully well that we could choose to reject him after he paid it all. His love for us seems reckless. Imagine someone who was entirely God, immortal, without our limitations, left his glorious estate to come live among men, so we can be restored and redeemed.
How great is the love of God! When that love fills your heart, you cannot walk around life feeling all alone. No wonder David said, no matter where he runs to, God finds him there. No matter how you feel about Jesus, he still shamelessly loves you. When you come to know this love expressed in Christ, it literally explodes in your heart and keeps you company.
If you haven’t received Christ, his alms are wide open to receive you; he awaits you to believe in His death, burial and resurrection, that he has paid for your sins and they are forever cleansed, never to be remembered.
If you have received Christ, but know nothing of this love, acquaint yourself with the redeemer’s love, for his love is not far away. This love abides in your heart. Paul says he has shed this love in your heart by the Holy Ghost. His love is in you, right in your heart! Meditate on this, speak it to yourself no matter how you feel. Feelings don’t change his love, instead change your feelings by speaking about his love in you.
Hear the writer of Hebrews speak concerning Jesus; for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
This week, I want you to always remember, you are never alone, Jesus is so in love with you! Talk to him today, for he longs to hear you!
Have a blessed week!
