Monday Motivation For Work

Monday Motivation For Work

Let me just dive right in because if I dilly dally about it I won’t finish today. I needed some sort of Monday motivation for work but when I got none, I decided to get ready for my day.

Most people wake up with the intention to resume work at 8am but for me, it was 9am because my department moved to a different location and that new location opens at 9am.

I got up before 7am, meditated, had a quick cereal for breakfast, fixed up peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwich for lunch (sounds posh right? #wash). I did all that because I most likely won’t find a place to buy food at the ‘NEW’ office.

You know we ladies love to take our time so imagine all the stages/processes of bathing and getting ready. By the time I was done, it was already past 8 (And I didn’t do makeup) just imagine!

I flew out of the house to begin my long walk for work. On getting to the estate gate, I realized there was no available means of transportation. So I had to wait for another 10 minutes before I got a bike that would take me to the first junction.

Trust me, it is very hard to get anything commercial on Monday morning. It took 15 minutes before I got a tricycle (keke) to take me to the second junction. I then walk another 5 minutes to the office space.

On Getting there, I met the shock of my life! THERE WAS NO OFFICE SPACE!!! NO LIGHT, NO GENERATOR, NOTHING!

I said to Myself, “Self?”

I answered “Yes b”

Myself said “You know we can’t work in this space right?”

I answered “Yes, we can’t!”.

After resting a while, I picked up my bags and left. I basically carried myself all the way back to the MAIN new office space (everything is just new today) that the rest of my colleagues moved to. When I got there, I received another shock but this time it was a good shock!

OMG!!!! I screamed, from outside. The surrounding…it was amazing! I took two bold steps in and almost passed out. Father Lord!!! The cool A.C that hit me made me hug myself unconsciously, the amazing lights, beautiful décor, good floor finishing, colours…. It was all amazing.

That is the best part of today so far. Seeing all my colleagues turned friends. Laughing and catching up.

What is the point of this entire story? Don’t let anger rule you or disappointment. There is always something to look forward to and rejoice over.

Don’t let the anger that would happen today being Monday ruin your entire day and week. Find the silver lining in every bad situation and chill. Just like me. Lounge in a super cool office with a spinning chair and lunch! Amazing!
