This season has been a lot of exploring different textures and I’ve found a few that I’m sticking to. I’d say velvet, metallic sequins and furs (of high quality please) have become my faves. Just so you know, these textures are becoming more luxurious as the day goes by!
For this season, I’m ditching the traditional scarlet-red, white or emerald colours that I’m used to for metallics or gold. I’d prefer sequins to be exact because, since Donatella Versace’s collections showcased in September, I’m looking at textures and colours from a different perspective.
In September, Donatella Versace gathered some ex-supermodels to strut the runway in honour of her late designer brother, Gianni Versace. They included Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen, Claudia Schiffer and Carla Bruni.
What felt like a comeback for the models who are now in their late 40s to 50s, there couldn’t have been a better team of models to strut in those golden dresses.
All the models look glamorous but I actually want that Naomi Campbell’s dress with a little adjustment here and there. I don’t even blame myself for wanting something fancy or for wanting a slinky glittering gown because we all have that part of us that embraces a bit of luxury.
