An exclusive health, skincare and beauty event themed “Raising The Standards in The Beauty Industry” was recently hosted by the Beauty Therapy Institute, Lagos, in collaboration with the Beauty Reports, the W initiative and Access Bank.
The objective of the forum was to engage the stakeholders in the health and beauty industry including Medspa owners, Beauty therapists, learners in the beauty industry in emphasizing the importance of upholding professionalism in the practice of beauty therapy.
The Event which was widely circulated on social media with the hashtag #beautymeetseducationseries could not have come at a more opportune moment than now when the standards of best practices available here in Nigeria are being compared to what obtains internationally.
Thé beauty therapy institute bridges the gap that has existed in obtaining quality education in the health and beauty sector by offering the same standards of education as its nine other campuses all over Africa with its headquarters in Capetown, South Africa. Many secondary school leavers, undergraduates and graduates seeking to enter the health and beauty sector can now obtain top class training in theory and practical courses at the institute.
The event also offered an opportunity for the attendees to learn more about the offerings at the institute. The principal and director of BTI Lagos Dr Ifeoma Abajue said “the turnout was impressive, showing that the sector is a growing concern capable of influencing the economy positively”. positively”. One of the major highlights of the event was Dr Eyitope Ibare-Jones, also a director and educator at the institute handing out scholarships to 3 lucky followers from the Instagram handle @btilagos.
Following the success of the event, the organizers are gearing up for a follow up event next year and all beauty enthusiasts are encouraged to be a part of the next workshop.
