Top Model, Gigi Hadid announced that she would not be walking the Victoria’s Secret show this year. A surprising announcement giving that this has been a lifelong of the model – to walk in the VS show and something she only achieved last year, there are a lot of theories as to why this might happen.
Gigi took to her Twitter to make this announcement
I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year. Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!! Can’t wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can’t wait for next year! 🙂 x

Of course, a lot of theories have risen concerning this from her being denied visa into the country to maybe striking a deal with another lingerie brand just like Kendall Jenner but nothing has been confirmed.
In another disturbing news, Katy Perry, who had been slated to perform at the show, will also not be performing after all. In a report by PageSix, the singer’s visa access into China was revoked because of a controversial incident from a while back.
The decision was apparently reversed after the government caught wind of a controversial incident from 2015, in which Perry donned a bright, glittery dress with sunflowers on it during a performance in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. Her outfit wound up causing widespread outrage because the sunflower had been adopted the year before by anti-China protesters.
To drive her point home, Perry also waved a Taiwanese flag during the concert in show of support for the country, which has been butting heads with China for years over its independence.
Katy Perry has also been reportedly replaced by Harry Styles.
The Victoria’s Secret show is slated to air on the 28th of November and would take place in Shanghai China.
