Would we have mentioned two-toned denim as a huge trend without acknowledging Demna Gvasalia Balenciaga’s new creative director? My thoughts exactly, No!
A vintage two-toned denim which goes for a whopping $1,450 is just a minor luxury which made every cool girl/It girl a reason to feel on top of the world. it’s not just denim yo, it’s two-toned. This year alone will not fade so quickly without the two-toned denim and what’s more interesting about this package is that most designers are on to it.
What’s to love about this particular denim is “the two different washes on the front and back along with, in most cases, a raw, uneven hem, this head-turning style is a modern (and slightly subtler) take on patchwork denim’.
“Blame it on Vetements is the saying of summer” but it’s here to stay. I can say much more impact than the alcohol (inside joke). This new found luxury item will not go extinct without A level street style star such as Bella Hadid who has a cool twist to making street style more luxurious in her own way. Yes, she owns the lane people!
If the name Balenciaga denim by Demna Gvasalia already punctures a big hole to your pocket, a simple DIY on your old jeans would be a creative approach to jump on this trend. Even winter has got nothing on this trend. For winter, I’m thinking a oversized wool jacket or leather jacket matched with a thick two-toned denim will do nobody harm.
Like your other denim, it shouldn’t be that difficult to wear, team your jeans with wardrobe basics like your T-shirts, crops, blouses and knits.
It’s just that simple, chic and makes you stand out from the crowd. This is how to do denim right.
