#LFDW2017: What I Expect From My Favourite Designers!

Yes, the Lagos Fashion Design Week is here and it starts tomorrow! Particularly, I’m waiting interested in the streetstyle from before-the-show to the main show. Did you know that Style Temple became a household name after their amazing collection last time?

Don’t get me wrong, if you are a Nigerian designer and you make it to the LFDW, you are good enough but then, I look forward to some specific designers that make we itch for fashion week while I scout for new designers to add to the list.

I’m expecting a lot of “magic” from my favourite designers like;

Lisa gives me that quirkiness I want in an outfit and her layering techniques are off the hook. If you are expecting some Afrocentric vibe, quirkiness and chic style with richness of her unique print fabrics. From Lisa, I expect more layering techniques, more unique and colourful print fabric and of course over-the-top styles (because she is that good!)

If I want anything that speaks couture, avant garde, impeccable red carpet worthy styles, I’m rooting for OG of Style Temple! You know how Americans get dramatic when it comes to dresses for red carpet, then you are more likely to pick Style Temple.

If you stalk her on Instagram, you would realise that her designs are becoming more “elitist”. I mean if you have a taste and you want to go “luxe” then, Style Temple should “whet your appetite” at the LFDW!

For a while now, Bayo of the Orange Culture brand has always fascinated me. Whatever designs he comes up for the men are always classy. For a clean, classy man, Orange Culture never disappoints me. From the upcoming LFDW, I’m hoping to see something more from his “androgynous style” which went viral!

For the love of exaggerated sleeves or layered sleeves. Titi Belo made me love anything with the dramatic sleeves from her collection last time. Although quite a newbie, I see her brand competing with the giants of the Nigerian fashion. I expect a more fun, exciting youthful collection from this year’s event.

tibeloAdding to my list I would love to see is the Ugo Monye Collection, Davido x Orange Culture collection (making noises in the UK), I will definitely pay more attention to Clan because I always failed to say I’m in love with their sophistication.

I can’t understand why RÉ Lagos isn’t presenting, Fruche Official also and Style Territory. Is it just my quirky choice of style but I love these designers and they make me excited to go to the Lagos Fashion Design Week!
