Hey Dolls, if you have been to my blog, you would know that I am all for maximizing the outfits in my wardrobe and if you are like Nims, who is steadily working her way up to being the bridesmaid of the year (Love you Nims), with all those bridal robes in your wardrobe, here is how to restyle it.
I got this Ankara robe at one of my best friend’s wedding last November and because I’m such a big fan of purple, I was so sure that wouldn’t be the last time of wearing it. She decided to go for Ankara rather than the normal silk robe because she knew we would always find ways to wear them again (me in particular because I was the chief bridesmaid).
Lately, I have been all about elevating casual outfits ( like this look ) and apart from using statement pieces, a kimono is one piece that would bump up your outfit anytime. I styled the robe like a kimono here without the belt since I was going for a casual look and wanted the corset to be quite visible beneath the jacket.
Paired with my ever faithful distressed jeans which has had no rest since I got it (you know the struggle when you finally find that perfect pair of jeans) and a pair of nude mules; I have not really been a fan of mules but this simple pair caught my eye and it is so comfortable.
Completed the look with a mini floral black purse and I don’t think this is the last time I would be styling this jacket. This reminds me about how we don’t really get to restyle our bridesmaids fit but I shared how I revamped one of my bridesmaids’ dresses for another wedding on Instagram
This look would also work perfectly with the silk robe and that is even more trendy because of the current silk and sleepwear rave in the fashion world, you can also pair with sneakers if you feel more like it, hey that’s my next look right there!
