I would be lying if I say I never heard of Renaissance until the invite. I had. It became especially had to ignore especially in recent times, with the in depth social media branding, the subtle and yet in-your-face way pictures from the hotel always popped on my explore page and the famous mirror. If you know, you know!
My curiosity piqued, and so when I got the invite to explore the grounds of The Renaissance Hotel, Ikeja, alongside other sound media heads, I was beyond ecstatic.
The reception was grand, and Renaissance ticked off one of the most important things to me when trying to book a hotel – Warm staff and a welcoming presence.
Soon we were seated – Vanessa Obasi from Genevieve, Nicole Asinugo from NdaniTV, the Lost in Lagos team and of course, yours faithfully from Kamdora – and we listened to a concise brief history from the Renaissance team.
At Renaissance Hotels, It’s Business Unusual. Each of the 160 hotels, located in nearly 35 countries around the world, is unique and every stay offers unconventional programs that help business travelers discover rich, local experiences. Renaissance Hotel offers signature events in their lobbies, bars and lounges designed to showcase emerging talent in music, the arts, mixology, gastronomy and more.
Soon after this, it was time for a tour of the grounds. Alongside other media influencers, we got to the see the majestic splendor of the hotel. The first thing that struck me was how deceptively big the Renaissance hotel was. One would never know that there were more than two bouquet halls in the hall as the place still maintained a quiet ambiance.
From the fine dining area, to the cute boutique were we saw several handmade items that mimicked life in Lagos, and then the bookstore that I wanted to live in, I loved everywhere here!
After the grand tour, it was time for to butter our taste glands with some of the finest finger licking foods Renaissance had to offer. I need not talk much here as you can tell that we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious options from the pictures.
We got some dope pictures taken too!
