It seems like it’s getting harder and harder to find a skin routine that is appropriate to your skin type and actually works. In addition to a skin care routine, most people fail to realize that, there are certain things that you may be doing and need to stop, or things that you are not doing that you need to stop.

For 10 ways to maintain healthy and beautiful skin, keep reading!

1. Drink Water

Even if you’re just slightly dehydrated, your body could respond in a negative way, sometimes making your skin look dull and saggy.

2. Eat fruits and vegetables.

All vegetables have at least one health benefit. The important part of fruits and vegetables is the antioxidants they contain. Antioxidants help fight off disease and reduce damage and inflammation. Inflammation is the main cause of wrinkle formation.

3. Limit exposure to sun

Vitamin D is essential for the body, but too much sun can damage the skin. Skin damage caused by sun can be controlled using sunscreen.

4. Try and use natural skin care products

Many of the leading skincare products contain harsh chemicals which can cause long-term damage to the skin. When making the choice on moisturizers or makeup products, try and look up the ingredients in them.

5. Make sure you have enough vitamin C

A diet with lots of vitamin C results in fewer wrinkles.

6. Avoid sugar

This is probably the hardest one, as so many food items contain sugar, but sugar damages collagen, and damaged collagen causes wrinkles.

7. Eat healthy fats

Incorporating foods such as olive oil, nuts, avocados and fish into your diet is important, as the fatty acids in these foods are crucial for your skin to look youthful.

8. Relieve stress

High levels of stress are likely to have a very bad effect on your skin. Take a break from problematic people and refrain from activities which are likely to cause stress.

9. Sleep

The skin repairs and rejuvenates itself mainly when we are asleep. Make sure you have at least eight hours of peaceful and stress-free sleep.

10. Exercise

Exercise increases the circulation of oxygen and releases toxins.
