Having clear, glowing skin could seem like an impossible task especially if you have tried all the over-the-counter medications you have been able to get your hands on.

They are:

  1. Wash your face twice daily

Wash your face with warm water in the morning and at night. Use a moisturizer on your face after washing; this will help soften your skin. Also, exfoliate your skin 2-3 times a week; you could make a sugar scrub at home.

  1. Don’t pop pimples on your face

I know it is sometimes not easy to stop yourself from picking an annoying pimple on the face but it is advisable not too. In fact, try not to touch your face with your hand as bacteria on your hand can be transferred to your face causing, even more, breakout.

  1. Use only clean brushes and fresh makeup

Brushes and Makeup can harbour germs which are then transferred to your face when you use them. To avoid this, wash your brushes as often as possible with antibacterial brush shampoo and replace powder, blush, eye shadow and mascara after 6 months of usage.

  1. Drink plenty of water

Cut out sugary drinks from your diet, replacing with water and drink 6-8 glasses of water per day. When your urine is yellow, it is a sign you need to drink more water.

  1. Sleep well and smart

You need 7-8 hours of quality rest every night. While sleeping, keep your hair away from your face so the oils on your hair won’t get to your face. Also, change your pillowcase frequently; your pillow case is a storehouse of oils and germs from your hair and face.

  1. Maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine

You are what you eat! You need to eat healthy to achieve clear skin. Focus on protein – rich diets, vegetables, and grains as well. Stress causes pimples and exercise reduce the amount of stress your body generates; so add a little exercise to your daily routine.
