Today I give you the first episode of I Just Got Back (IJGB) series, and I spent a day at Shopmeidei store at Lekki phase 1.
From outside, I could spot the lovely pieces at the shop window. Greeted by two pretty ladies and nicely invited into the store. At this point, I already know I will be spending half of my day in here.
One of the store attendants was nice to give me a tour of the store. Shopmeidei stock various Nigerian fashion brands both for men and women. Their fashion range goes from clothes, accessories, bags to lingeries. To my surprise, I was introduced to their beauty section on the first floor where you have nail bar, salon, beauty area for an instant makeover and a cute luxury room for gift items and exclusive products.
One of the things I love about their whole store is the attention to details and aesthetics. The design is very clean and refreshing. Also, can I just state how great to finally find a store that pays so much attention to how products are arranged in store and not cluttered altogether? I could see every single piece on the rack. It has a feeling of going into a small Selfridges in central London. Shopmeidei should be on your list of stores to visit in Nigeria. I can’t remember having anything go wrong especially after experiencing a very bad customers service from a famous modern store a few weeks ago; I was looking forward to seeing how I will be treated this time around.
Majority of Nigerian brands lack good customers service, but Shopmeidei is surely an exception.
