Hello fit fam, how is the struggle going? Yes o, keeping fit and eating healthy is a struggle and we are all in it.
So here is a question I’ve always asked myself and my friends. I mean, I love potatoes, fried, boiled, mashed, roasted, grilled, burnt, raw lol, I believe you get my point. But most of all, I love chips. Pringles and Lays are my all-time favorites. And I also love french fries. Pair them up with barbecued chicken and you totally have me on a platter of gold! (I just revealed my Achilles heel, bad move Esther, bad move).
Now the question is this: which is the lesser of both evils?
Well, for the same serving size, french fries have about half the fat and calories that potato chips have. They also have higher fiber content than potato chips. Their water content is greater than that of the crunchy potato chips. Hence, they fill you faster.
So this means that French fries are relatively healthier than chips (Oh no, my Lays!). Say bye bye to salty, crunchy, yummy potato chips!
Eating sweet-potato fries is way healthier, though. Sweet potatoes are a rich source of flavonoid antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, and they are quite low in calories. So switch your regular french fries to sweet potato fries for a healthier meal. The upside is that sweet potato fries is tastier, that’s perfect for those of us with a sweet tooth.
Stay healthy fam, xoxo
