I’m crushing on this music artist for today popularly known as MAGNITO whose real name is Mohammed Usman. He hails from Benue state, but was born and brought up in Abuja. He raps in Hausa, Pidgin and English, and he studied Business Management from University of Jos. Not only is he a member of the “Beard Gang”, he also has a fresh fashion sense often spotted with the latest pair of Sneakers. The name ‘Magnito’ was adapted from Marvel Comics fictional character in X-Men called Magneto due to how powerful the character is.
He is known as a charismatic rapper and a great lyricist who always seems to have both humour and message in his songs. You might be familiar with “Medicine Girl” which he did the Remix with late Nigerian female artist Goldie and also KAKA remixed with top Nigerian artist Timaya. He has done collaborations with many artists including his close industry friend, producer and artists Sam Klef; CDQ; TKON; Oritse Femi; Brown Shuga and many more. As crazy as this may sound especially in the entertainment industry, he neither smokes nor drinks.
MAGNITO might have been quiet in the industry, but he has been busy working. So watch out for his moves in the second half of 2016. He has collaborations lined up with other top Nigerian artists such as Tekno, Timaya and Falz the Bahd Guy. He recently released a song with Phyno called “Hoha”. His latest song is to be released on Friday 24th of June, 2016 titled“If I get Money Ehn”. The video which was produced by one of the dopest video producers in the music industry MattMaxx will drop shortly after that.
I throw my hands in the air for you man, keep it going, the sky is the starting point.
