“You’re the brightest thing in the room,” he said. He lifted his hand from my waist, and slowly, carefully brushed a stray lock of hair from my cheek. “You shine.”
― Morgan Matson, Since You’ve Been Gone
Rise and Shine!
Make today the day that you silence that little voice inside your head that tries to hold you back.
That voice that tells you not to say anything so you won’t make any waves, to remain a wallflower. That voice tells you not to reach for your dreams because you may not be good enough or you don’t deserve them.
That voice that tell you that you’re selfish for wanting to focus on your own desires and goals.
Well not anymore. Because today is the day you let your light shine. The day you make your own needs and wants your priorities. The day you stand up and speak your heart, without fear of reproach. Because you believe in something and will stand behind it, even if you stand alone.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us, it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.”
– Marianne Williamson
