How To’s: Fixing Discoloured Nails
Our finger nails are porous, which means that they can absorb some of the colour (Nail polish) we put on them. Putting on nail polish too often can lead to discoloured nails and also, smoking which is genrally bad for the health can cause some yellowing in your nails. Except you want discoloured nails, you should watch and curb these two things.
Already have discoloured nails? Not to worry, there are some ways to fix this and get your nails back to their original colour;
1. Lemon: Soak your nails in lemon juice mixed with warm water or cut the lemon in half and stick your nail in it for a while.
2. Toothpaste: This is readily available to us all. Use toothpaste along with a baby toothbrush and scrub your nails for a while, this should help lift stains.
3. Hydrogen peroxide: This product has so many whitening properties. Add some to a bowl and soak your nails in them for few seconds, wash off and apply moisturizing lotion.
4. Make a paste: Make a paste of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Mix one tablespoon of baking sode with 3 table spoons of baking soda. The combination of these two is sure to lift those stains. Put the paste on your nails, leave for 3 minutes and then wash off. Apply moisturizer.
