How To’s: Fixing False Lashes

When it comes to makeup, we all know that the eye is a feature that can make your face POP. Fixing lashes can totally transform your appearance and make look glamours. Celebrities wear them a lot on the red carpet or on a daily basis, and I know we wouldn’t mind looking like one of them.

Most of us shy away from it because of how some girls have abused false lashes by letting a non-professional fix it or by using the wrong tools which as we know doesn’t end well. Because we can see the glue sticking out or they use lashes that are too full. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be like that.

There are basically two types of false lashes; the cluster/single lash and the strip lash.

The Cluster lash:
lashes

They are fixed individually on your natural eyelash using glue until a desired volume is attained. They last for a week or two and require a professional to fix them.

The strip lash:lash

They are a “wear and take out” kind of lashes. They are removed right after use. The pros of this kind of lashes are that it is reusable and can be fixed by you.

Fixing your strip lashes for a glam look:

  1. It is harder to apply makeup with false lashes on, so it’s best to fix them when you are done with your eye makeup and this will prevent makeup from staining the lashes.
  2. Spread a thin layer of glue on the lashes. The glue normally comes with the lashes or can be bought separately.
  3. You can wait for like 10 seconds for the glue to dry; this makes it a little bit thick and prevents it from being messy when applying the lashes.
  4. Place the lash on your eyelids where you applied your eyeliner making sure that the glue holds it firmly. You would be working from the inner corners of your eyes to the outer corner.
  5. To know if you have placed your lash correctly, look closely to check if your natural lashes fall closely into the new extensions. If you can see an obvious gap, then you have to remove the lash and place it again as close as possible to the natural lash line of your eyelids.
  6. If you do not see an obvious gap, then you have done a good job.
  7. Apply eyeliner to your lids where the lash strip is sitting. This helps conceal any obvious space and make them look more natural.
  8. Apply Mascara, as you normally would. The whole idea is to use mascara to hold your natural lash in place against the new ones, working from the bottom to the top!
